7th Research Skills Training Workshop
'Immunology of fungal infections & antibody engineering'

Prof Anna Veccharelli is hosting a training workshop on ‘Immunology of fungal infections & antibody engineering’ at the University of Perugia, Perugia, Italy, from 3th to 7th October 2011, as part of the FINSysB research training programme (http://www.finsysb.eu/).
This 5 day course will include:
* A lecture series on
- Fungal infections
- Trends in novel vaccines
- Antimicrobial peptides
- Antibody engineering
* And practical training in
- infection and vaccination models and drug administration
- in vivo imaging of infection,
- isolation of macrophages and neutrophils, T-cell purification
- Sample collection (spleen, lymph nodes and serum)
- FACS analysis
- Cytotoxicity and apoptosis tests
Training will be provided by internationally renowned researchers including Anna Vecchiarelli, Roberto Cauda, Maurizio Cianfriglia, Allesandro Pini, Chiara Falciani, Luciano Polonelli, Andy Porter, Mauricio Sanguinetti, Deborah O’Neil. This will be an excellent opportunity for young researchers to meet other fungal pathogen experts.
A limited number of places are available to external participants.
